Creative writers have a new virtual space where they can share their passion for writing and connect with other Marymount writers. The Facebook group “Creative Writing at Marymount“ houses links and information about writing contests, publication opportunities, and literary readings in the area. It also contains a discussion board with writing prompts and a space for students to post their work and respond to each other’s thoughts on writing. The members of the group recently organized a trip with Dr. Karapetkova to hear Chinua Achebe read at George Mason’s Fall for the Book Festival, and more trips to readings in the area are in the works.
