Alum Co-Writes Film

Recent Marymount English alum Amanda Sodhi has just received her first film-writing credit, with the production of Life! Camera, Action, a story about a young middle class Indian American girl’s (Reina) journey to pursue a career in film-making. Reina enrolls in film school, struggling to complete her annual film project while juggling a number of jobs. Fulfilling her dreams to become a film-maker leads her to pursue another dream–to prove to her parents that her drive for films is sincere. View the trailer at IMDB.com.

Amanda is currently a PR/Marketing Associate for a textile company in Bethesda, but she is working on more screenplay assignments and pitching some ideas to Bollywood directors. She has written lyrics for a few Hindi albums, and she continues to write on Indian cinema for a number of magazines and web sites.

Congratulations, Amanda!
